The Erie SeaWolves clinched their first playoff berth since 2007 with a 7-1 victory over the Bowie Baysox in the second game of the doubleheader.
The SeaWolves took the lead in the second and never looked back. Luis Castillo blasted a three run homer in the second to give Erie a 3-0 lead. Eugenio Suarez singled home another to me 4-0.
Daniel Alvarez brought in the only Bowie run of the game. A solo homer in the third off Matt Crouse made it 4-1.
The SeaWolves then tacked on three more runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. In the fourth, Luis Castillo scored with two outs after Garabez Rosa mishandled a Jamie Johnson grounder. In the fifth, Tyler Collins mashed his ninetieth homer of the season. In the sixth, Johnson drove in one on a fielder's choice to cap the scoring and give Erie a 7-1 advantage.
Matt Crouse worked 5.2 with two strikeouts allowing just the solo homer. Tyler Stohr finished off the game, working 1.1 innings allowing just two hits.
Erie will continue their final home stand with Bowie Saturday with a 7:05 first pitch.
