Smyly has started only once since the All-Star break, a spot assignment as an injury fill-in on Aug. 25, but his performance in his rotation over the first half was respectable. He gave up three earned runs in five innings to the Twins on May 25.



Twins: RHP P.J. Walters (2-4, 6.39 ERA)

Walters is seeking his first victory since May 22. Since then, he has made seven starts, during which he has compiled an 8.90 ERA, yielding 47 hits in 29 1/3 innings.
