Scherzer tossed seven innings of five-hit, one-run ball while striking out eight on Tuesday in a win over the Jays. He is now 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA in four August starts, and took over the Major League lead in strikeouts, with 186.



Angels: RHP Ervin Santana (7-10, 5.46 ERA)

Santana has been the Angels' best starter in August, going 4-0 with a 3.16 ERA in four outings. He beat the Red Sox on Tuesday, giving up two runs in 6 1/3 innings. The right-hander hasn't walked more than two in any start since July 4.
