Scherzer encountered trouble in the second inning against the Twins, walking the first two hitters. But he rebounded with three straight strikeouts and finished with 10 on the way to seven shutout innings. He has won 11 of his last 14 decisions.



Blue Jays: LHP Ricky Romero (8-10, 5.47 ERA)

Romero alllowed six runs on eight hits during his last start against the White Sox. He is now 0-9 with a 7.45 ERA over his past 10 starts, which represents the worst losing streak in the American League. He hasn't won since June 22 in Miami.
