Tigers: RHP Rick Porcello (1-1, 6.32 ERA)

Porcello recorded only three outs in his last start against the Rangers, as the 23-year-old sinkerballer was tagged for eight earned runs on 10 hits. His career numbers -- a 3.16 ERA and 3-1 record -- suggest he'll bounce back vs. the Mariners.


Mariners: RHP Hector Noesi (1-2, 9.49 ERA)

The 25-year-old has been either really good or really bad in three starts, sandwiching two rough outings around an eight-inning scoreless gem. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings Friday against the White Sox, however, giving up six hits and six runs.






RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers suffered a 9-1 loss to the Mariners last night, Detroit’s fifth loss in the club’s last six games. Adam Wilk (0-3) took the loss for Detroit after allowing six runs in two innings of work. Brennan Boesch belted a solo home run for the Tigers. The Tigers conclude a seven-game homestand with the final game of a three-game series versus Seattle this afternoon. Following this afternoon’s game, the Tigers head to New York for a three-game weekend series before returning back to Detroit for a six-game homestand with Kansas City and Chicago beginning on Monday.

VILLARREAL RECALLED FROM TOLEDO: The Tigers today have recalled the contract of righthanded pitcher Brayan Villarreal from Triple A Toledo. Villarreal appeared in five games with the Mud Hens, compiling a 2.00 ERA (9.0IP/2ER) and 13 strikeouts. Following the game last night, the club optioned the contract of lefthanded pitcher Adam Wilk to Toledo.

HAPPY AT HOME: The Tigers have compiled a 159-96 record at Comerica Park since the beginning of the 2009 season, a .624 winning percentage. Detroit is third among all major league clubs with a .624 winning percentage at home during that stretch, trailing a .660 winning percentage by the Yankees and .625 winning percentage by the Rangers.
