TIGERS FALL TO THE CARDINALS: The Tigers suffered a 9-5 loss to the Cardinals yesterday afternoon in Jupiter. Phil Coke (1-1) took the loss in relief for Detroit. Andy Dirks led the Tigers with two hits and two RBI, while Jhonny Peralta and Brandon Inge both finished with a hit and an RBI.

OLIVER OPTIONED TO TOLEDO: The Tigers today optioned the contract of lefthanded pitcher Andy Oliver to Triple A Toledo. Following today’s roster move, Detroit has 31 players remaining in major league camp.

GOING YARD: Through 26 games of Grapefruit League action this spring the Tigers have belted 36 home runs. Detroit is tops among all American League clubs with 36 home runs this spring.

STINGY STAFF: Tigers pitchers have compiled a 3.44 ERA through the club’s first 26 games of Grapefruit League action this spring. Detroit is third among all American League clubs with a 3.44 ERA.

DELMON DOES DAMAGE: Delmon Young is tops in the Grapefruit League with a .413 batting average, 39 total bases and 19 RBI this spring, while he is tied for second with 19 hits and tied for fourth with five home runs.

RABURN ROLLING THIS SPRING: Ryan Raburn is tied the lead among all Grapefruit League players with six home runs this spring, while he is ted for second with 18 RBI and is fifth with 35 total bases.

TEN MINOR LEAGUERS JOIN TIGERS FOR TONIGHT’S GAME: The following 10 inor league players have joined the Tigers for tonight’s game versus the Nationals: righthanded pitchers James Avery (#19), Daniel Bennett (#52), Guido Knudson (#61) and Michael Morrison (#71), infielders Brent Dlugach (#9), Corey Jones (#25) and Jordan Lennerton (#44) and outfielders Tyler Collins (#24), Michael Rockett (#26) and Chad Wright (#36).
