Iannetta leaves with hamstring injury
Rockies catcher injured rounding third base

By Kyle Austin / MLB.com

05/23/09 8:45 PM ET

DETROIT -- Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta left Saturday's game with a strained right hamstring sustained while running the bases.

After hitting a double in the sixth inning against the Tigers, Iannetta took off running around third on a Garrett Atkins single, but he suddenly pulled up a few steps past the bag. He walked off the field under his own power, visibly favoring his right leg.

Yorvit Torrealba pinch-ran for Iannetta as he left for the training room. Iannetta has played in 30 games for the Rockies this year, and is batting .218. He led off the second inning of Saturday's game with his eighth home run of the season.
