Ideally, Scherzer would be in line for two starts in this series. With his arm still not stretched out to midseason form after his bout with shoulder soreness down the stretch, however, he'll get extra rest and a potentially crucial Game 4 start.




Yankees: LHP CC Sabathia (2-0, 1.53 ERA)

The Yankees will keep their ace on regular rest -- a rarity in the postseason -- after he threw 121 pitches in Game 5 against the Orioles for his first playoff complete game. He allowed three runs in 17 2/3 innings in the ALDS, striking out 16.






INJURY UPDATE:

• C Victor Martinez (left knee surgery, 60-day disabled list on March 12).
• OF Ryan Raburn (right quadriceps strain, 15-day DL on September 11).
• LHP Daniel Schlereth (left shoulder tendinitis, 60-day DL on April 21).
