TIGERS FINISH IN TIE WITH NATIONALS: The Tigers and Nationals tied 5-5 in 10 innings yesterday afternoon at Joker Marchant Stadium. Justin Verlander fanned four batters as he tossed four shutout innings for Detroit. Brennan Boesch finished with a home run and two RBI for the Tigers, while Brandon Inge belted a solo home run.
GOING YARD: Through eight games of Grapefruit League action this spring the Tigers have belted 17 home runs. Detroit is tops among all American League clubs with 17 home runs this spring.

CHECKING THE LEADER BOARDS: Brennan Boesch, Ryan Raburn, Delmon Young and Eric Patterson are all tied for second in the Grapefruit League with two home runs this spring. Raburn is tied for the league lead with eight RBI, while Young is sixth with six RBI and Boesch is tied for seventh with five RBI.
