Makes his third appearance, second start, of the spring this afternoon against the Marlins...finished sixth in the American League with 8.5 strikeouts per nine innings during the 2010 season...established a career high with 12 wins and 184 strikeouts in 2010 -- according to the Elias Sports Bureau he became just the third pitcher in franchise history to compile at least 12 wins and 180 strikeouts in his first season with the club to join “Wild Bill” Donovan in 1903 (17-16, 187 SO) and Joe Coleman in 1971 (20-9, 236 SO) in accomplishing the feat...tabbed by Jim Leyland to start the club’s home opener on April 8 versus Kansas City at Comerica Park...acquired by the Tigers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 9, 2009.
